TITLE:
What the Lab is called.
PURPOSE:
What will the experiment show you or what are you truing to find out.
HYPOTHESIS:
What do you think will show? (If…then…because…)
MATERIALS:
A list in columns of the equipment and chemicals you will be using in the experiment. Be as specific as you can about the exact equipments and amounts.
PICTURE OR DIAGRAM OF THE LAB SET UP:
Since you are not allowed to have your book on the lab table during experiments, you will need to draw a picture or make a diagram of how the equipment is to be assembled. This picture or diagram needs to be labeled.
PROCEDURE AND QUESTIONS:
In a procedure you need to write down exactly what you will do. Each Step should be numbered and the steps should be in a column. Write each step as a command. As much as is practical, make one step for each thing you do in the lab.

If you come to a question in the middle of the procedure, write Q and a number next to it and the copy the question. Leave a space for the answer then go on with the rest of the procedure steps. When you are doing the lab and come to that question, answer it in the space provided and highlight the answer.
DATA:
This section may include just your group’s data but most of the time it will include data from other classes too. Most of the time there will be a data chart. You might include other observations and comments. Data is the actual measurements and calculations you do in the lab.
CONCLUSION:
Write down the main fact that was taught by the lab activity. It should relate back to the purpose. Remember, LABS NEVER PROVE ANYTHING. Labs provide us with information that might support or fail to support certain ideas that we had before. A conclusion should include everything you learned from doing the lab. Quantify your data if possible. This means talk about what percentage of people got what major results.
